The Correctness of Religion?
Religion is a practice founded on the heart of belief. The cornerstone of religious belief is faith on something that transcends our mortal ability to provide material evidence beyond every individual's personal discernment or rebuke. It is my belief that all of us as human beings, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindu, agnostic or atheist, all comprise an entire family of spiritual existence. We are like blind students who are afforded the chance to place their hands on an elephant for the first time and ask to describe what an elephant is. We can only discern what we are touching and are blind to the entire body that is the elephant. The limitations of the mortal mind prevent one from ever truly understanding the entire body that is God. The best we can hope for is to place our hand on the part of the body that tells us to be good in our earthly travels and to admire the precious nature of all that represent life. In the end we are all one big spiritual family. So, just like a family, you can choose to only associate with some of your fellow kinsfolk. Or you can even choose to reject your family all together and never speak to them again. However, you cannot ever strip your ancestral blood that courses through your veins. Just like our own households, we can all choose different ways to support our family and that is perfectly ok. So as long as you choose to do good and love all that represents the beauty of life, you indeed, still are supporting the pedigree of humanity. That is my belief. I don’t claim t that my beliefs are correct or that they should be the beliefs of all mankind. It is also my belief, that as a Jew, I should pray to Hashem for all people who suffer throughout this world. As I would also urge Christians to pray to Jesus, and Muslims to pray to Allah for the same. Even if you are an atheist and do not believe in any form of God, that’s ok too. In fact, it’s better to be a good atheist, than a bad adherent of any one religious faith. No matter what you do or don't believe in, I think we should all take a moment to wish for the best for the family of humanity and any that are suffering right now. Those are my beliefs and you can disagree. Disagreements amongst people, when handled civilly, inspire forward progress. Some of you may find my beliefs to be too much to bare and will find yourself unchecking the "Like" button on my page. Frankly, I am ok with that too. Just know before you go though, know that I still will consider you as family and I still love you.
