What If You Took a Moment To Read This and It Changed Your Life?

Happy Sunday Everyone!

I hope every single person that see’s this post today has an amazing day! Now, I don’t just mean any old amazing day. Rather, I mean the kind of amazing day that is filled with limitless, unexpected and miraculously encounters.

For me today, I am going to do something that I don’t think I’ve actually done in almost 8 straight months. I am completely taking the day off from being Lt. Tim McMillan. Today, I’m just going to be Dad or Tim to my family and relax.

Now, in my absence, I encourage you to do the same. Just take the day off*.

Try to do something today that you love that you haven’t done in a while.

Or maybe, let today be the day, you go experience something that you’ve been wanting to do, and just haven’t done it yet. Take a break from the crazy world, and instead make time for your crazy self (I mean that in the most loving way).

No matter what you do, just decide that today is going to be a day that you encounter nothing but positive and great things!

If you happen to be someone who has woke up today, and already feel like you are the happiest and in the best place you possibly be, Great! Now, before you read another sentence after this, stop…close your eyes, and just say thank you; I don’t care who you feel you need to thank, just take a moment to be thankful (whew… see how I made two sentences one to make that work).

If you happen to be someone who has woke up today, and feel like you could be happier or you could be in a better place, Great! Now, before you read another sentence after this, stop…close your eyes, and just say thank you. Yep… say, thank you. Because, today is a brand spanking new day, and you’re still alive. That means it’s filled with all sorts of unknown and mysterious things that could come into your life and suddenly change your world for the better. All you have to do, is be willing to keep your eyes open for happiness and positive change.

Back to my “couldn’t be happier people.” You have a very, very important role today. One that is actually going to make your life happier and better than you initially imagined. Today, be on the lookout for what you can do to make someone else’s life better. It doesn’t matter how big or how small, just do something to help share your happiness with someone else.

If you can’t figure out where to find someone in need of a little happiness today, well just look for the people walking around with eyes wide open. Don’t worry, they’ll be looking for you.

Now, to my “wish I was happier” and “couldn’t be happier” people, I have a secret for you… You’re both the same. You’re both in the same group. There is not one person more special than all of us. None of us can have ultimate peace, happiness, and fulfillment until all of us have peace, happiness, and fulfillment. Essentially, today everybody needs to walk around eyes wide open and arms wide open to give and share happiness to others.

My last bits of advice for the day.

Gam Zeh Ya’ vur. In Hebrew, that means, “This too shall pass.” If you are in a tough place right now, never forget nothing last forever, and “this too shall pass.” So don’t dwell in the bad and instead look towards the good. No matter how distant it feels or how faint the light seems. There is good out there for you. I promise.

Conversely, if you find yourself in a great place today, remember, “this too shall pass.” So appreciate every single moment of it. Don’t ever take anything for granted.

Lastly, remember the greatest peace is the peace between opposites. True greatness and success doesn’t come from only doing what you are good at. Nor does it come from only surrounding yourself with people who are like you. Instead, real success in life, comes from overcoming obstacles and gaining peace amongst opposites. The more unlikely something seems, the greater the victory and sense of achievement will be.

Most importantly of all, just go out in the world and be amazing! I can’t wait to hear about all the incredible things you all do today.

Again, have an incredible day and I’ll see you Monday. Then we can work on fixing that whole crazy world, that didn’t take the opportunity to make themselves amazing today. Good news though. If we all do our part, even just a little bit today, that crazy world will have shrunk some by Monday.

*Note: If you are supposed to work today, this doesn't not mean that you suddenly have permission to take the day off. Indeed that couldn't change your life, but maybe not for the better. Instead, just do everything I recommended, just do it at work. Where you are is not what's important. Rather, it is you that is important.
